South Ferry Company – Actionable Intel Ensures Smooth Sailing for South Ferry
The family-owned and operated South Ferry Company on Shelter Island in New York has shuttled people and vehicles between Long Island’s Shelter Island and North Haven since the 1700s. Since the 1970s, the operation has expanded considerably, increasing annual carry loads from 150,000 vehicles and 350,000 passengers to more than 700,000 vehicles and 1.2 million people.
Maine State Ferry Service – Computerized Preventive Maintenance System Delivers Visible Advantages
As part of the Department of Transportation, the Maine State Ferry Service (MSFS) provides year‐round, passenger and vehicle ferry service to islands in the mid‐coast region of Maine. Specifically, six islands (Frenchboro, Islesboro, Matinicus, North Haven, Swan’s Island and Vinalhaven) are served from three mainland terminals in Rockland, Bass Harbor and Lincolnville.
